General Information kgantzer writes "Questions and Answers to/from City of Mason regarding connecting Windermere to the City of Mason via bike paths and/or Sidewalks (start from bottom)

Kurt, Thanks again for contacting the City of Mason!  The Bicycle and Pedestrian Way Master Plan and current Thoroughfare Plan are located on the website at the following links:

Mason-Montgomery Road north of downtown is designated as a minor arterial roadway.  In the future it will be widened to 3 or 4 lanes with a bike path and sidewalk.  There is no immediate plan for construction of these improvements so I cannot give you a date.  All of Bethany Road is designated as a major arterial roadway.  We received a grant for the first section of Bethany Road, which we are currently designing from SR 741 to the Mason Sports Park.  This will include widening to three lanes, a bike path and sidewalk and is expected to be under construction in 2012.  Future projects would extend this improvement to the west corporation limit near the Parkside subdivision, west of Mason-Montgomery Road.  Long term our goal is definitely to construct a connection to the downtown, but future traffic growth and funding will determine the timing of these improvements.  It is likely that the Bethany Road improvements would be constructed first and would connect you to Hickory Woods Drive, which will be connected to downtown with the Mason Road improvements planned this year.I hope this helps answer your question, please feel free to contact me if you would like any more information.

Thanks again for contacting the City of Mason.
-Kurt

Comments:I reside at 3713 Windy Hollow Way in the Windemere subdivision of Mason.  I have lived here since 2001. Does the City have plans to connect our subdivision to the downtown Mason business district with a sidewalk and/or bicycle path?  If there are no plans, when can plans be made? So many other Mason subdivisions are connected to the district, and it will help our subdivision to be more cennected to the City.  Thanks.Response Method: Please respond by e-mail"
